At the last ever ‘Old Firm’ derby in April 2012 there was one banner that carried the hope for the future as well as a chilling warning about the present.
‘You’re grand-children will be Celtic fans’ it read and everyone in green and white enjoyed a chuckle.
The laughter has barely stopped in the six years since Charlie Mulgrew, Kris Commons and Gary Hooper drew a line under a fixture that had been propped up by illegal tax scams long beyond it’s natural lifeline.

Brendan Rodgers’ arrival in 2016 breathed fresh life into a golden era for Celtic fans with a generation of primary school children knowing little else but success for the hoops. Success with style involving new heroes with one local bhoy as bright a star as any.
Kieran Tierney is much much more than the pin up player for Celtic fans of all ages- he is one of the best defenders in Europe as UEFA regularly recognise. On and off the park the bhoy from Wishaw is an inspiration.
When that banner was raised in April 2012 KT was a schoolboy hopeful, driven and determined but dozens of prospects fall into that category. As 2018 turns into 2019 he is the symbol of Celtic’s domination- with no sign of it being halted any time soon.
