After being under attack on social media Chris Sutton has revived one of the greatest goalscoring celebrations ever seen in Scottish football.

Eighteen months ago Firhill was the venue for what most on-lookers took as a fairly meaningless match between two Glasgow clubs struggling in the shadow of the Invincible champions.

A dull end of season game looked like ending in a 1-1 draw with the four minutes additional time greeted with a sigh by those who had stuck with the television coverage.

Out on nowhere Joey Garner rose like Zlatan Ibrahimovic to head home what was clearly the winning goal.

To the amazement of those watching that goal sparked the most amazing scenes of celebration.

Disabled fans jumped up and down for joy, grown men wept with joy as excited teenagers hurdled over bodies to join the celebrations of their heroes on the pitch.

Incredibly no fatalities were reported, no Police Scotland reports compiled, the incident wasn’t mentioned in the SPFL report with Thistle fans shrugging their shoulders before heading down Byres Road.

Tomorrow at Hampden Sutton will be part of the BT Sport team covering the final of the Betfred Cup between Celtic and Aberdeen.
