Confirmation of an early return from injury for Ryan Christie was exactly the news that Celtic supporters wanted to hear today.
The midfielder looked like being out of action for months when he required five minutes of treatment during the Europa League defeat from RB Salzburg on Thursday.
It seemed to be only a matter of time on Friday before an announcement was made that there was a fracture or serious ligament damage but initial scans revealed no real damage.

Absolutely brilliant news missed him yesterday big time something I though I wouldn’t be saying about him just shows how much he’s improved as a player these last couple of months

Celtic without Christie were caught well short against Hibs but the defeat was tempered slightly by Brendan Rodgers speculating that the midfielder should be back in action before the winter break.
Wednesday night against Motherwell is likely to be too early but it seems that Saturday’s home match with Dundee is a realistic target for a return to action.
With trips to Pittodrie and Ibrox to follow there could well be another chapter or two for Christie to write about a remarkable year.
