RMC Sport has claimed that Timothy Weah has already agreed to join Celtic on loan for the remainder of this season.

The striker had been linked with a move to the SPFL champions with that prospect given credibility when he followed 14 Celtic players on Instagram.

Weah has been unable to get any game time with Paris Saint Germain this season and now looks like following Odsonne Edouard to the hoops.

RMC Sport explained:

Timothy Weah will no longer play at Paris Saint-Germain this season. The attacker asked to leave on loan several weeks ago. In France, Amiens, Strasbourg , Rennes and Caen tried to bring the American international. Despite all these interests, Timothy Weah is heading to Celtic Glasgow. The player trained at PSG will join Brendan Rodgers, the coach of Celtic, very important in his decision.

Brendan Rodgers has gone on record as saying that he wants to bring in two strikers during the January transfer window.

With very little first team experience Weah would be viewed in the ‘project category’ but has much more chance of seeing meaningful action with Celtic than in the French capital.

Due to the reputation of his father, former PSG and AC Milan striker George, Timothy has been watched closely with the prospect of working under Rodgers key to developing his talent in the same way as Moussa Dembele, Olivier Ntcham and Edouard.
