Michael Stewart got involved in a brilliant twitter row with Douglas RED CARD RED CARD Ross last night.
The extreme right wing Tory MP opened his mouth on full time referees in a brief interview with the BBC as the standard of refereeing in Scotland plunges even further.
As well as his lucrative Westminster salary and generous expenses Ross picks up very lucrative match fees from his assistant referee duties- earning much more than the national average wage from a couple of hours weekend work.
It’s interesting that you don’t regard being paid £800 a game to officiate as a job….
If full time work is what equates to having a job you might want to adjust those unemployment figures your UK Gov like to pump out!!!! https://t.co/qHj8jsRWRm

Wow just wow!!
Douglas refuses to answer a single question posed to him then reverts to this ????????
Leave the politics to the politicians, mere citizens shouldn’t get above their station!!!
What a discriminatory and pathetic attempt at humour….. https://t.co/Rj39gYPoeD

Talking of “inaccuracies” @Douglas4Moray didn’t you recently claim Moray Council were sourcing only 19% of their school food locally?…..
Turns out it is more than 60% ???????????????
Maybe you’re busy now with @RossThomson_MP investigating more about “InstantGrammes” ??????????????????????

Ok Douglas what are the “inaccuracies”??
Do you have more than 1 job? ?
Did you intent to step down last season? ???????????
VAR is more urgent than full time officials. ?1. Was a matter of fact
2. Was a genuine question
3. Is an opinionNot sure how it’s full of “inaccuracies” https://t.co/PeFrJHJTFC

The twitter exchange covered politics and football with Ross exposing some of the prejudices that he tries to keep hidden.
In an interview before being elected to Westminster he said that getting rid of travelling people would be his priority if he became Prime Minister for one day.
Ross has still to come out and support Teresa May over her Brexit deal but did speak out passionately in the Commons recently about ‘our precious Union’.
