Celtic will decide this morning whether Mikael Lustig is fit to play against Motherwell.

The defender suffered a head knock in the early stages of the Europa League tie against RB Salzburg.

After trying to play on he was replaced by Kris Ajer after 21 minutes then missed the weekend defeat from Hibs.

Lustig’s absence forced Celtic to switch to a 3-5-2 formation that was badly exposed by Neil Lennon’s side.

Celtic have 12 points to play for before the end of the year with Rodgers having to play it by ear whether he will have Lustig available again.

Mika’s scan was clear but he was still feeling dizzy,” the Celtic boss explained to The Sun. “When it’s like that, medics are tentative.

You have to go with the player. If he’s still feeling like that on Tuesday then he won’t play against Motherwell, but we will see where he is at come the weekend.”

Anthony Ralston was on the bench against Hibs but hasn’t played a minute of first team football this season.

With his big match experience Rodgers will be wanting to have Lustig in his side next week at Pittodrie and Ibrox.

Kieran Tierney is expected to return to face Motherwell but Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie will both sit it out.
