Brendan Rodgers looks like being close to his A-team for next week’s match at Aberdeen.

Celtic have been hampered by injury problems almost all season with the Betfred Cup Final against Aberdeen at the start of December the closest that the hoops have been to a full strength side.

Last week away to Hibs Rodgers’ side were without Mikael Lustig, Kieran Tierney and Dedryck Boyata from their favoured defence while the goal threat of Tom Rogic, Ryan Christie and Leigh Griffiths was also missing.

In midweek against Motherwell Odsonne Edouard joined the casualty list.

On the plus side, ten days after being stretchered off against RB Salzburg, Ryan Christie will be back in action to face Dundee.

Edouard is expected back next week with the Celtic website offering the following update from today’s media conference.

Kieran Tierney, Mikael Lustig and Dedryck Boyata will also miss the Dundee game, but all three will be available for selection against Aberdeen and Rangers in the coming days. Tom Rogic is due to join the Australian national team on December 27, ahead of the Asia Cup, which would rule him out of the Hoops’ final fixture of the year.

It remains to be seen how the Rogic situation is resolved but it looks like Rodgers will ave real options for the two matches that bring the curtain down on 2018.
