Brendan Rodgers had a Gary Hooper moment as he wound up the media today.
Back in the autumn of 2011 Peter Lawwell told the assembled media of a multi million pound bid that had been rejected for Gary Hooper.
From an unknown club, in an unknown country in an unknown universe!

The Celtic chief was making clear reference to the moonbeam interest in Nicola Jelavic, the usual suspects ran with the tale to demonstrate the financial health of the old Rangers club- less than a year later they were in liquidation with a tribute act playing at Brechin, Peterhead and Annan.
Dedryck Boyata has been teasing fans on social media about a new Celtic contract, at the end of today’s broadcast conference Rodgers was asked if a new deal had been signed.
With a straight face he revealed: “Yeah, he’s just signed, a five year deal.”
The room was silenced by that news, with a smile Rodgers added: “Was it on social media- or anti social media!”
Boyata’s four year Celtic contract runs until June 2019.
