Mikael Lustig has revealed that Brendan Rodgers rarely loses his cool despite the enormous pressure of managing Celtic.
The Irishman has won seven successive trophies as Celtic boss- smashing a number of records along the way.
At Hampden on Sunday Derek McInnes was animated throughout as he urged his team forward in the heat of the battle but there wasn’t much activity on the adjoining technical area.
On the park there were a few feisty challenges getting put in as Andrew Dallas struggled to keep control but little displays of emotion from the Celtic manager
Underneath his rain jacket Rodgers was absorbed in the game, trusting his players to carry out his instructions with only some minor alterations with all three substitutes playing key roles.
“No, not often,” Lustig admitted when asked if his boss ever loses his cool. “We have so much respect for him, he doesn’t have to scream at us.
“We know when we have done something wrong so it’s not often that we see him angry.
“Since he walked into the club he has shown that he is a top, top manager. When you have a top manager and staff it helps.
“We work really hard in training, everyone contributes to the team, with injuries people come in and know what their job is, they know what to do and what is expected.”
Lustig has built up a healthy medal collection since joining Celtic from Rosenborg in 2012
With fourteen medals in his collection he is one of the most decorated players in Celtic’s history but despite recent success he appreciates every medal that comes his way.
“Seven in a row is something that can’t be taken for granted,” he added. “There is a lot of hard work involved to come here and win trophies but this squad can be satisfied with what it has achieved.
“It’s hard at times to cope with the demands, switching from European matches to cup finals but when you are playing well and winning it is much easier.”
