Within an hour of Celtic’s statement about John Beaton more than 1,000 comments had been added to the club’s twitter account.
Since the events at Ibrox last Saturday there has been a flood of comments about John Beaton’s performance. Yesterday the SFA whispered to their preferred media outlets that no action would be taken against Alfredo Morelos for various incidents that should have produced a red card.

BTW great statement. Question, have you researched the games JB referee when Celtic are playing? Compare it with any other SPFL referee. Draw your own conclusions. The empirical evidence doesn’t lie unless the cop out is “honest mistakes”. Next ??is who and when? HH

About time we stood up this mob.????????
They allowed Rangers to keep every trophy they won illegally. No club in Scotland challenged them or took them to court over this decision.
Let them off with nothing from now on.— Garngadbhoy (@shamrockbhoy7) January 4, 2019
Celtic’s response has been measured, looking at the issues in a wider context while requesting an explanation from Beaton for Saturday’s decisions.
New SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell has kept such a low profile few fans are aware that Stewart Regan has been replaced. Having dodged issues to date he now has the opportunity to show some leadership and justify his salary which is believed to be in the region of £300,000 per year, plus perks.
Having released the statement and requested a meeting the follow up will be keenly awaited to ensure that there are no Beaton-like performances from Scotland’s match officials.
