Reports have emerged tonight that Neil Lennon has been suspended by Hibs.

There is no word from the club but both BBC Scotland and Sky Sports are claiming that he won’t be on duty at Sunday’s match against St Mirren.

Although there has been no official announcement from the club the news is obviously coming from a reliable source.

According to The Sun things kicked off after a team meeting this afternoon where Lennon was highly critical of the squad. Chief Executive Leeann Dempster then stepped in, had a meeting with Lennon with the upshot being an internal club suspension. The Sun claims that assistant manager Garry Parker and the backroom staff are on the side of their manager.

Lennon has been in charge of Hibs for two and a half seasons, ending their exile in The Championship then delivering a top six finish in the Premiership, European football and a £3m transfer fee for John McGinn.

That money hasn’t gone anywhere near the player budget with the Irishman sounding increasingly desperate in recent weeks over.

Last week Hibs announced the signing of Scott Allan from Celtic on a pre-contract agreement but with less than a week remaining in the transfer window it looks like there will be no more additions to the Easter Road squad.
