Celtic are close to completing the signing of Maryan Shved.
According to a report from the Sports Arena website in the Ukraine the striker has been left out of Karapty squad that has gone to a training camp to prepare for the resumption of their season after the winter break.
Shved is believed to be priced at £2m after scoring eight times in 17 matches up until the start of December.
With Odsonne Edouard and Vakoun Issouf Bayo already at the club Shved would give Brendan Rodgers the third striker needed to increase his striking options.
Shved had a two year stint with Seville’s reserve side earlier in his career which should prepare him in some ways for moving to Glasgow.
A work permit would be required to complete the transfer but Celtic would have looked into that before beginning serious negotiations to sign the 21-year-old striker.
