Jacques Lichtenstein has insisted that there is no chance of Dedryck Boyata staying on at Celtic.

In August the controversial agent kicked up a storm when he arrived unannounced at Celtic’s training ground demanding a meeting with Brendan Rodgers. When the Celtic boss made himself available after training had ended Lichtenstein had disappeared.

That incident kicked off an unwelcome chain of events that involved a rejected bid from Fulham and the defender making himself unavailable for the Champions League qualifier with AEK Athens.

Rodgers managed to heel the rift with the player who impressed for much of the season but with the transfer window open again Lichtenstein is back trying to earn a healthy commission, using Het Laatste News to push a transfer.

A new contract isn’t an option, we are not even talking,” he boasted. “We have plenty of choice. We are looking at every proposition.”

Boyata can now sign a pre-contract agreement to move on elsewhere with Celtic not picking up a penny in compensation.

Rodgers rejected an £8m bid from Fulham during the summer because Celtic didn’t have a replacement for the Belgian World Cup defender, that situation hasn’t changed meaning that Boyata is unlikely to be sold this month despite continued interest from Fulham.
