Celtic are hoping that Vakoun Issouf Bayo can join their squad in Dubai this week.

Rapid Vienna, Parma and Dinamo Kiev are also linked with a move for the striker but it seems that Celtic are close to agreeing a £2m deal with Dunajska Streda for the 21-year-old.

Bringing in two strikers has been the priority for Brendan Rodgers since Leigh Griffiths became unavailable with the deal for the young Ivorian close to completion.

The Daily Mail reports:

And senior figures at the Parkhead club were quietly confident of completing a deal for the Ivory Coast Under-21 international this week.

Celtic have already signed Oliver Burke on loan from West Brom with a similar deal to take Timothy Weah from Paris Saint Germain at a similar stage.

Rodgers gets his squad down to serious business in Dubai today and is expected to speak to the media at some stage today.

Celtic are back in action in 12 days time when they host Airdrie United/Clydebank in the Scottish Cup followed by three home matches in the SPFL Premiership.
