Celtic linked with 5 million euro solution to problem position

Robert Gumny is the latest right-back being linked with a move to Celtic.

The reports originate from Polish site Sport One who are claiming that a five million euro fee is being discussed with Lech Poznan.

That figure would appear to be on the high-side but Gumny would be a more realistic option that the eight million euro rated Atalanta defender Timothy Castagna.

Since the summer transfer window right-back has been highlighted as a priority area for Celtic to strengthen with the hoops linked to Omar Elabdellaoui of Olympiakos and Porto’s Fernando Fonseca.

Gumny is a regular in Poland’s u-21 side and in his second season as a regular in the Lech Poznan side. Last summer he was linked with a move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Brendan Rodgers has spoken about knowing the areas in the team that require quality additions, with Tony Ralston facing a spell on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage the hoops boss is back to Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa competing for his problem position.
