Celtic are close to completing the signing of Maryan Shved.
According to a report in the Daily Record Karpaty Lviv boss Fabriciano Gonzalez has already gone on record to say that the deal has been completed.
Shved will become Celtic’s fourth signing of the transfer window but is expected to be sent out on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old winger has already had a spell in Spain playing for Sevilla but that was cut short by a cruciate ligament injury.
After Celtic’s 4-0 win over St Mirren Brendan Rodgers made it clear that interest in Shved was coming from the club before correcting that perception when he was asked about the winger while previewing the weekend win over Hamilton Accies.
With a winger and striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo also signed up it looks like major surgery on the Celtic defence has been put back until the summer with only Kieran Tierney and Kris Ajer likely to be involved in the July European qualifiers.
