Aberdeen have joined the race to sign Lewis Morgan on loan.

Brendan Rodgers has agreed to let the winger move out this month with a stint at Pittodrie working wonders for the career of Ryan Christie.

According to a report in The Sun Derek McInnes has made an enquiry about Morgan whose Celtic prospects have been reduced by the signings of Oliver Burke and Timo Weah.

Moving to Pittodrie would keep Morgan very much in the eye of Rodgers with the bonus of being able to harm Celtic’s title rivals on a weekly basis while leaving Aberdeen weakened when they face Celtic.

Christie quickly became a key man for the Dons- and equally was a big loss when it came to matches against the hoops.

Hull City and Hibs have also been linked with Morgan but with a strong respect between the two managers they’ll have their work cut out to prevent Aberdeen winning the race to sign the winger.
