Aberdeen are waiting on an answer from Lewis Morgan over a loan move to Pittodrie.

The winger hasn’t featured in any of the three Celtic squads since the winter break ended with Brendan Rodgers happy to let him go out on loan.

Ryan Christie is being held up as the loan template with 18 months at Aberdeen propelling him into a first team player on his return to Glasgow.

The Express claims:

McInnes has held talks with the Celtic winger.

And he is now waiting to see if he will make the move to Pittodrie.

The Scotland cap has options on both sides of the Border. Premiership rivals Hibs and St Mirren have also inquired but Celtic won’t sanction those moves, although they are prepared to let the 22-year-old move to Pittodrie on loan.

Jack Hendry and Jonny Hayes have also been mentioned in connection with a loan move to Pittodrie with a few departures expected from Celtic this week.

The main criteria in picking a loan deal will be the likelihood of first team football with Lewis restricted to just one start for Celtic and 12 substitute appearances.

Celtic paid £300,000 for Morgan a year ago and immediately loaned him back to St Mirren where he played a key role in their Championship victory.
