Hull City have expressed an interest in taking Lewis Morgan on loan.

Brendan Rodgers is prepared to let the winger go out on loan after struggling to make an impact since joining Celtic in the summer.

Last January Morgan went on loan to St Mirren where he helped them to clinch promotion to the SPFL Premiership with a number of English Championship sides watching his development at Paisley.

Hull looked to be heading for relegation after a disastrous start to the season but manager Nigel Adkins has now taken his side to just four points away from a play-off spot.

We’ve had a look at a lot of players in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and obviously Lewis is one,” the Hull boss told the local Daily Mail. “Celtic have brought two or three players in forward-wise.

He’s a young lad and did really well at his previous club but that wasn’t in the top level of Scottish football.”

Cryptically he added: “Young lad, dynamic winger, he’s exciting to watch. Will that happen with us, will that happen with another football club?

I’m sure his agent’s going to be working very hard to get him somewhere.”

Morgan has been linked with loan moves to Sunderland, Hibs and Aberdeen and seems certain to be moving out before the month is out.

Upto half a dozen players could be on their way out of Celtic during the transfer window with Rodgers still hoping to bring in more new faces.

Earlier today Scott Allan signed a pre-contract deal with Hibs with talks expected with the Edinburgh side to see if a transfer fee can be agreed this month.
