Derek McInnes is keeping ‘his ear to the ground’ regarding Lewis Morgan.

Aberdeen have been linked with a move for the Celtic winger who is available to go out on loan.

Following the blue print established by Ryan Christie a spell at Pittodrie would appear to suit all parties.

Asked about the link at today’s media conference McInnes told The Sun: “We have lots of conversations with managers and I’ve no comment to make regarding Lewis Morgan. It’s my job to keep my ear to the ground.”

Nothing is likely to be settled before the weekend but Morgan does have the bonus of not being cup tied after missing out on Celtic’s Scottish Cup win over Airdrie United/Clydebank.

Celtic paid St Mirren £300,000 for Morgan a year ago and immediately allowed him to stay with the Paisley side as they clinched promotion back to the SPFL.

The arrivals of Timo Weah and Oliver Burke have reduced Morgan’s chances of getting meaningful game time at Celtic with Brendan Rodgers keen to see the winger and Jack Hendry move out on loan provided they will get adequate game time.
