One picture on twitter summed up how English football has lost it’s soul- sold out to the Tourist Fan happy to buy a half-n-half scarf to remember their big day watching ‘the greatest League in the world’.

Tottenham against Manchester United was eagerly anticipated on a number of levels. The visitors are on a storming run after ditching Jose Mourinho with the favourite as his permanent replacement sitting in the Spurs dug-out in the shape of Mauricio Pochettino.

At Wembley the home side are on the fringe of the title race and capable of scoring five or six goals at the drop of a hat with Ole Gunnaer Solskjaer bringing back the spirit of Fergie after a five year absence.

Spurs dominated but were unable to find a way past the inspired David de Gea, in time honoured fashion, just before half time Marcus Rashford found the net with what proved to be the only goal of the game.

The picture above shows one very unhappy Spurs fan with her head in her hands, for two others it was a photo opportunity rather than a sickening blow!

Full points lifted Manchester United into sixth place, six points short of Chelsea and a Champions League place. For the Spurs tourist his side are now nine points behind Liverpool with another trophy opportunity slipping out of camera shot.

Other than some fawning admiration for Barcelona no one with a Celtic ticket would ever consider taking a picture of a goal scored against their team.
