Neil Lennon has confirmed that Hibs are interested in signing Lewis Morgan on loan.

The former St Mirren winger has found opportunities limited since joining Celtic in the summer with the arrival of Timo Weah and Oliver Burke adding to the competition for places.

Celtic and Hibs fell out over the transfer of John McGinn during the summer but previously Anthony Stokes, Liam Henderson, Kris Commons, Efe Ambrose and Scott Allan have been sent on loan to Easter Road.

With Martin Boyle ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury Lennon is anxious to bring in new faces with Ryan Gauld close to completing a loan move from Sporting Lisbon.

“Lewis is a player that we like but we’ll probably be in a queue with many clubs,” the Hibs boss told the Daily Record. “And we obviously know Jason (Cummings) very well.”

Hibs were devastated by the loss of Allan, McGinn and Dylan McGeouch with Lennon’s side finishing the year in eighth place.

Like Celtic Hibs are currently training in Dubai with Sunderland also linked with an interest in taking Morgan to League One.
