Oliver Burke makes his debut for Celtic against Airdrie United in the Scottish Cup with the on loan West Brom man picked as sole striker.

Timo Weah is listed as a substitute alongwith Ewan Henderson as Celtic begin their defence of the Scottish Cup against the League One outfit.

It’s three weeks since Celtic lost the Glasgow derby at Ibrox with Brendan Rodgers taking his squad to Dubai for a week of warm weather training.

Buke and Timo Weah met up with their new team-mates in Dubai before enjoying a full week of training back at Lennoxtown. Further signings are expected with hoops fans hoping that a new right-back will be signed up before the end of the month.

Tonight’s match is Celtic’s first involvement in the Scottish Cup this season with Rodgers hoping that he can become the first hoops boss to win the trophy three years running.

Last season Celtic beat Motherwell 2-0 in the final at Hampden, 12 months earlier it took a stoppage time goal from Tom Rogic to clinch the cup against Aberdeen.

CELTIC: Bain; Ralston, Boyata, Benkovic, Ixaguirre; Brown, McGregor; Forrest, Christie, Sinclair; Burke

SUBS: Gordon, Lustig, Bitton, Ajer, Johnston, Henderson, Weah

Earlier today a Celtic XI including Andrew Gutman lost 4-3 in a friendly away to Arbroath.
