Turkish club in new move for Boyata

Dedryck Boyata is a transfer target for Besiktas.

According to a report on the Turkish website SporX Besiktas are ready to rival Fulham to sign the Celtic defender who is out of contract in June.

Overnight Boyata’s agent Jacques Lichtenstein claimed that there was no chance of a new contract with Celtic as he attempted to force through a lucrative commission.

Brendan Rodgers got caught up in the storm during the summer transfer saga which saw the defender declare himself unavailable for Celtic’s Champions League tie away to AEK Athens.

With no sign of any defenders joining Celtic Rodgers managed to bring the Belgian international back into the fold where he quickly formed an impressive partnership with Filip Benkovic. Those two played together in all three of Celtic’s Europa League victories.

Fulham have again been linked with a move for Boyata but also seem to be closing on on a deal to sign Gary Cahill from Chelsea.
