UEFA have posted a cryptic tweet of Victor Wanyama in his Celtic days.

The Spurs midfielder has been heavily linked with a loan move to West Brom with some optimistic hoops fans wondering if a deal could be reached to bring the Kenyan back to Celtic.

Wanyama is currently out injured having made just four EPL appearances this season as Spurs attempt to mount a title challenge.

Neil Lennon signed the little known midfielder from Belgian side Germinal in 2011 with Wanyama quickly forcing his way into a Celtic midfield that included Scott Brown, Joe Ledley and Beram Kayal. After scoring in Celtic’s epic win over Barcelona in November 2011 his departure seemed inevitable with Southampton spending £13m to take him to the EPL.

Three seasons later he moved to Spurs in a £15m deal but has never managed to put together a consistent run in Mauricio Pochettino’s side. At 27-years-of-age Wanyama should still have his best years in front of him but badly needs to be playing first team football again.

A loan deal to Celtic would be an attractive option but would hinge on his fitness and finances if he is to be part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans for Celtic’s Europa League ties with Valancia next month.
