Celtic appear close to completing the signing of Maryan Shved from Karpaty Lviv.
According to a report from the Sports Arena website in the Ukraine the goalscoring winger has been left out of his side’s winter training camp to conclude negotiations over his transfer.
With eight goals from 17 matches as a winger Shved would certainly appear to have the attributes to fit into the style of play that Brendan Rodgers likes his side to deploy.
Although Oliver Burke and Timo Weah also play in that position those two players are only on loan until the end of the season allowing Shved time to adapt to his new environment before the vital European qualifiers.
Interestingly the 21-year-old has already had a spell away from home at Seville and although the wonderful Spanish city and Glasgow are almost polar opposites Shved does have some experience of living and working abroad.
A work permit will be required to complete the signing but having started negotiations Celtic must be confident of obtaining that document.
