Peter Lawwell watched from the directors box at Paisley today as a Celtic XI lost 4-0 to St Mirren.

Oran Kearney was able to field his first team who proved too strong for the young hoops who included Karamoko Dembele and Armstrong Oko-Flex.

With over 25 players in Dubai with Brendan Rodgers’ first team squad Tommy McIntyre was left with thin pickings which included a trialist defender.

Celtic’s last reserve match was on December 17 against Hibs with the next scheduled fixture on 28 January against Partick Thistle at Lesser Hampden.

With just 10 Reserve League fixtures remaining before the end of the season Celtic will be looking to arrange friendlies and closed doors matches to pad out the season.

Six of the Reserve squad are in the Scotland u-19 set up that will compete in the European Championship Elite Round in March where they have been drawn against Portugal, Turkey and Cyprus.
