After any defeat for the clubs from Ibrox there is nowhere like the Radio Clyde to tune in for a good gloat.

Three weeks of feel good gloating built up expectations to incredible levels heading to Rugby Park before reality made a most unwelcome visit. Even with Jermain Defoe and Steve Davis.

Celtic have had a rocky season to date, supporters know that things aren’t quite right but generally a sense of perspective is kept. The majority of the Celtic support lived through Dave Murray cheating his way to nine-in-a-row as well as the EBT years, there is an ill-built caution among most Celtic fans.

Across the city and elsewhere, in the hell-holes of Larkhall, Bearsden and Kilwinning the lack of success has bred utter desperation, the sort of false hopes that turn Andy Halliday into a Messiah and sees grown adults wear bread wrappings on their head.

For one Billy the defeat from Kilmarnock proved too much. While Halliday enjoyed the best day of his life beating Celtic 1-0 Billy had to take a day off work after the Killie defeat. He broadcast the fact to thousands including his own boss who also listens in to Radio Clyde’s Super Scoreboard.

Proving that this Billy wasn’t a one off another fan later in the programme admitted that he had also taken the day off work due to the Killie defeat.

Welcome to your new club Jermain, here’s to plenty more #SevcoThursday’s.
