Olivier Ntcham and Jozo Simunovic were struck down by illness today.

The French midfielder was listed as a substitute for today’s Scottish Cup tie with St Johnstone but was withdrawn shortly before the match with Mikey Johnstone taking his place on the bench.

Simunovic played the first 45 minutes but was replaced at the interval by Kris Ajer with Premier Sports reporting that the defender was also suffering from illness.

Despite those blows Celtic reached the last eight thanks to a comfortable 5-0 win taking the domestic cup run under Brendan Rodgers to 24 straight wins.

Goals in the opening 10 minutes from Scott Sinclair and Scott Brown killed off any resistance that Tommy Wright’s side had to offer.

James Forrest put Celtic three up early in the second half with Sinclair completing his hat-trick to book Celtic’s place in tomorrow’s quarter final draw.

A late injury to Oliver Burke was the only injury concern from the match with the on-loan West Brom man heavily involved in creating Celtic’s first and fourth goals.

UPDATE At his after match media conference Brendan Rodgers said that Ntcham felt tightness in his hamstring before the kick off..
