Amido Balde has signed a contract with Indonesian side Persebaya Surabaya.
It seemed that the strikers career was over in 2016 when he was hospitalised with pulmonary embolism while on loan at CD Tondela from Maritimo.
Balde is remembered as one of the nightmare strikers that Celtic signed during the early part of this decade with a £1.75m securing his transfer from Vitoria Guimares in June 2013.

It quickly became apparent that he didn’t have the touch required to play for Celtic as he was demoted to ‘project’ status then sent out on loan to Beveren of Belgium followed by Hapoel Tel Aviv. Those two loan stints produced one goal, a spectacular effort for Beveren before his hoops contract was terminated two years early in 2015 with Balde walking into a two year contract with Metz.
Despite the lack of goals throughout his career Balde has never struggled to find a club with Persebaya Surabaya the 13th club to take him on with Wikipedia crediting him with 30 career goals.
Last year Persebaya Surabaya finished in fifth place in the table, 12 points behind champions Persija.
