Celtic could be the team to benefit from the outpouring of anger from Ibrox over Alan Power’s booking for a foul on Ryan Jack.

After the match Steven Gerrard stated that he expected further action to be taken against the Kilmarnock midfielder with that message taken on board by the keyboard warriors.

On Friday Hibs defender Darnell Johnson had a yellow card against Celtic upgraded to a red with the offer of a two match suspension which is likely to be appealed.

Should the SFA decide to take the same action on Power- applying a two match suspension- he will miss Sunday’s SPFL clash against Celtic as well as the cup replay at Ibrox.

With Youssouf Mulumbu ruled out of Sunday’s match against his parent side Steve Clarke would go into the match against Celtic without two of his key central midfielders.

No retrospective action is expected to be taken against Young McCrorie for his dangerous head clash early in the second half that forced Power off with Kris Boyd taking his place.
