James Forrest won’t allow Celtic’s Europa League exit impact on another treble bid.
After Scott Brown there is no-one more experienced in the Celtic squad with the winger having 14 major honours in his collection.
Another two are on offer before the season winds down with the focus of Brendan Rodgers’ squad now entirely on domestic issues.
Over the next seven days there are six SPFL points up for grabs and a semi-final place in the Scottish Cup at stake with Forrest focussed on another clean sweep.
“We’ll get back to domestic football, we’ll pick ourselves up and we’ll concentrate on trying to win trophies at home,” he told The Sun.
“There’s so much to look forward to, so much to play for and we’ll give that our full focus now. No one in that dressing room wants to talk about Trebles and all that, there is far too much to be done before the trophies are handed out.
“We’ve got Motherwell next in the league then a really tough Scottish Cup tie away to Hibs, so you really have to take it one game at a time.
“It’s helpful to have a game right off the back of a disappointment like this and it should be a good one. Motherwell are on a great run, with six wins on the bounce in the league, so they’ll make it hard for us.
“Some of the young lads coming through there look really good and they’ll be looking forward to a game like this. For us, it’s hopefully another step towards the title and another great season.”
After the final whistle blows at Easter Road next Saturday Rodgers will have a far clearer picture of how the season is developing, how realistic another treble is.
On home ground Celtic are untouchable domestically but after a tough shift at Rugby Park two trips to Edinburgh will provide the toughest of tests for the hoops credentials.
