Highlights of Celtic’s Reserve League win over Kilmarnock on Monday are now available to watch on You Tube.
Karamoko Dembele, three days after his 16th birthday, started his first match at this level and put in a highly impressive second half display.
As well as his natural dribbling ability he has great strength, something that was needed at Rugby Park as he was constantly patrolled by two and three players whenever he got on the ball.
Killie keeper Devlin Mackay pulled off two great saves to deny Dembele a goal, in both instances he cut in from the right wing before hitting powerful shots from his left foot.
The only goal of the game arrived seven minutes from half-time and showed great variety in Celtic’s play away from the traditional short passing and pressing game.
Dembele dribbled inside midway into the Killie half, laid the ball back to Kerr McInroy who seemed to be on the same wavelength as Armstrong Oko-Flex who ran into the penalty box to cushion a header into the net.
Celtic should have been home and dry long before the end but in the closing minutes Ryan Mullen pulled off a great save to ensure full points.
CELTIC: Mullen; Hill, Church, Welsh, Compper, McInroy, Dembele, McLaughlin (Mazis 74), Aitchison, Allan, Oko-Flex
