Neil Lennon has admitted that he could manage in Scotland again.

A fortnight ago he left Hibs by mutual consent with that chapter likely to be on interest in his next autobiography alongside his touchline burst up with Ally McCoist.

In November the Irishman exposed the racism that he encountered while managing Hibs with that revelation coming after a coin attack at Tynecastle- the ground he was assaulted at in 2011.

After managing Celtic and Hibs it was assumed that Lennon’s days in Scotland were over but as he takes stock of his new found status he hasn’t ruled out another stint on the touchline that kept the SFA Disciplinary Committee busy with a farcical ban once handed out for an aeroplane celebration.

Reflecting on the last couple of weeks he told The Sun: “It’s only been a couple of weeks. I know from past experience it’s usually about a month before you start getting the itch again.

But at this time of the season I don’t envisage anything short-term that will get me back into management.

I’ll go to as many games as I can, maybe visit a few clubs, try to refresh my thinking and knowledge, prepare myself for a return.

England, abroad, maybe again in Scotland — I’ll always keep my options open. Football is a very difficult industry to get work at times.

There’s so much competition now and there are constantly new managers coming in.

You see Paul Scholes going in at Oldham and Sol Campbell at Macclesfield. Jobs are very precious.

You can’t pick or choose where you want to go, sometimes it’s just being at the right place at the right time.”

During the interview Lennon admitted that he is unlikely to be tempted back into management in the short term, preferring to spend time watching games, doing media work and visiting clubs.

Last night Hibs announced that Paul Heckingbottom was their new manager.
