Paranoia levels at Ibrox have gone through the roof following Steven Gerrard’s admission that his side aren’t going to challenge Celtic for the title.

The painful annual arrival of reality is never pleasant as Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha discovered with their jobs terminated.

Deflection has become an art-form for many at Ibrox with a whole week of events programmed to take attention away from the SPFL table.

First out of the traps was Stewart Robertson with an in-house attack on the BBC and SFA, two topics that the hard of thinking believe are involved in a complex conspiracy against clubs from Ibrox.

Yesterday we had an amazing statement from the in-house fan group Club 1872 which carried a scatter gun approach similar to an infamous ‘Enemies of Rangers’ article that was published in 2012 as administration and liquidation engulfed the old club.

Accompanying that statement, Nacho Novo has been sharing his views that a Celtic mafia is running the SFA with the Daily Record quick to pick up and promote that interview from a fans website.

This morning we now have an interview with Jim Traynor which is overflowing in paranoia as he attempts to even up some old scores with his former colleagues at BBC Scotland.

Towards the end of the interview Traynor suggests that fans stop paying their BBC licence- that will reduce the fees available for Billy Dodds, Neil McCann, Steven Thompson, Alex Rae, Kenny Miller, Steven Naismith and Lee McCulloch to share their views.
