One cheeky Celtic fan has repaid Craig Whyte the pound coin that he splashed out on Rangers (IL) in May 2011.

Billed as a billionaire six months earlier the Lanarkshire based businessman bought the club from Dave Murray to a fanfare with promises of a bright new era for the club that had been using disguised remuneration schemes for at least a decade to stay afloat.

Unfortunately for Whyte his predecessor had already appointed Ally McCoist to replace Walter Smith on a lucrative contract with that decision virtually sabotaging Whyte’s plans for the club.

Defeats to Malmo and Maribor blew a massive hole in the club’s plans for the season with Whyte deciding to withhold Income Tax and National Insurance soon after the Europa League exit to Maribor.

By the new year Neil Lennon had clawed back a 15 point deficit into a one point lead with Whyte putting the old club into administration on 14 February 2011, four months later HMRC rejected a half hearted CVA with the club forced into liquidation.
