Robbie Deas was on the score-sheet today as Scotland’s u-19 side opened their European Championship qualification campaign with a 3-1 win over Turkey.
The scores were level at 1-1 when the defender, who has made 25 appearances on loan at Cowdenbeath this season, put Scotland in front seven minutes into the second half after Ibrox starlet Jordan Houston had levelled for the Turks with an own goal.

Jack Burroughs of Coventry made sure of the points with a goal in the 87th minute.
Deas was joined by Celtic team-mate Daniel Church at left-back, Ryan Mullen in goals with Ewan Henderson playing in midfield. Jack Aitchison and Kerr McInroy made late appearances as substitutes.
On Saturday Scotland take on Cyprus before completing their group against hosts Portugal on Tuesday. Only the group winners will qualify for the finals which will be hosted by Armenia in July, in today’s other group match Portugal beat Cyprus 3-0.
