Celtic can stretch their lead at the top of the SPFL table to 10 points by beating Dundee tomorrow after Steven Gerrard watched his side draw 1-1 with Kilmarnock today.

The rookie Ibrox boss had tried to rally his side into winning nine cup finals before the end of the season but with little experience in his side of playing in cup finals his side extended their win-less run to four matches.

The point trimmed Celtic’s lead down to seven points but a win over relegation haunted Dundee can stretch the gap at the top to double figures before the end of the month Glasgow derby.

Conor McAleny put Killie in front after 29 minutes following a horrendous error from Allan McGregor but after 64 minutes Alfredo Morelos equalised for the home side.

Despite five minutes of added time there was no further scoring with the remaining fans inside the stadium at the final whistle venting their frustrations with a chorus of boos.

With Hamilton beating Hearts 1-0 today Dundee find themselves six points adrift of the Lanarkshire side in second bottom spot which will see them in an end of season play-off unless they can start turning things around.
