Oli Burke has explained the ‘skin-tight’ King Size pale blue suit that made him the talk of social media.

The on-loan West Brom forward opted to join a group of team-mates for a trip to the Cheltenham Festival which involves a bit more than a visit to the bookies.

Led by the sometimes dapper Scott Brown the Celtic party got special suits for the occasion and certainly made sure that they stood out from the crowd.

Burke managed to come up with one winner from Tuesday’s card but it was the outfits rather than the horses that caused a stir on social media.

What about the suit, we all went to Forbes and chose what we were going to wear,” he explained in The Sun.

We were trying to find something no one else would have. It wasn’t really the weather for the colour I went for though!”

He added: “There were good vibes and it’s great team bonding to go to something like that together. We managed to get into a box and we had a good laugh.

It was my first time at a racecourse and I really enjoyed it. I backed one winner then I stopped. I collected my winnings and thought, ‘That’ll do!’.

I don’t know how it works, to be honest. I just enjoyed watching the horses while not having a clue who was winning but it was a really terrific spectacle and a great occasion.

I was a little surprised by how good the atmosphere was. It was amazing.”

After returning to training yesterday Burke and his team-mates have their thoughts set on Sunday’s less glamorous trip to face Dundee at Dens Park.

The fixture before an international break always carries extra significance with the Dundee fixture giving Celtic the chance to at least maintain their eight point lead at the top of the table.

With a Glasgow derby coming up following Scotland duty two domestic wins will go a long way towards securing an eighth successive title win for the hoops.
