Peter Grant has put the blame for Scotland’s 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan on the players!

Speaking to the Scotland National Team twitter account Alex McLeish’s assistant washed his hands of any blame for the defeat to the 117th best team in football.

McLeish and Grant were able to select three Celtic players in the attacking positions plus one of the candidates for the English Championship Player of the Year as well as Stuart Armstrong and Ollie McBurnie.

With careful preparations for the fixture Scotland flew out on Monday and tried to keep their players in EK time which meant that they were sleeping in daylight then training in the dark due to the six hour time difference.

All of those plans backfired in the first ten minutes as Scotland lost two goals with no sign of a change in tactics or approach despite the unfolding disaster.

On Sunday Scotland face San Marino.
