For the third time in as many months Celtic had to overcome an inept refereeing display by Willie Collum.

With the match still goal-less at Easter Road Oliver Burke was bursting into the Hibs penalty box when he was clipped by Lewis Stevenson with the on-loan midfielder falling into the penalty box.

It wasn’t a penalty but it should have been a free kick with the referee deciding if it merited a red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Incredibly Collum waved play on despite having a perfect view of the incident- just as he did in the recent matches at Aberdeen and St Johnstone.

At Pittodrie in December Aberdeen were awarded two soft free kicks while Niall McGinn escaped with just a yellow card for a dangerous over the ball lunge at Ryan Christie’s shin.

In February Burke was chopped down by Jason Kerr during the first half, in once second half incident Christie had his ribs attacked while Odsonne Edouard had to be stretchered off after being the victim of a straight leg challenge. Celtic weren’t awarded a penalty.
