Kieran Tierney could be out of the Scotland side to face Kazakhstan on Thursday.

The defender missed more than two months of action due to a hip injury, returning to the Celtic side on February 24 against Motherwell and playing in the last five matches.

The toll of three seasons of high profile matches has taken it’s toll on the 21-year-old who looked short of full fitness during Sunday’s 1-0 win away to Dundee at Dens Park.

A 4,000 mile flight to play on a plastic pitch won’t do Tierney any favours with the Daily Star reporting concerns over his fitness.

Tierney looked a shoo-in to play in Astana, with captain Andy Robertson set to miss out after surgery on a dental problem.

However the Celtic man could yet miss the Euro opener for Alex McLeish’s side.

Starsport understands Scotland physios may rule him out of playing due to concerns over playing on the plastic pitch put up the hosts.

With Andy Robertson left behind to deal with a dental issue it seemed certain that Tierney would start Thursday’s match at left-back.

The SFA have already excused Ryan Fraser and Callum Paterson from playing on Thursday due to concerns expressed by their clubs, Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

With five Celtic players in Kazakhstan hoops supporters are concerned about any risks being taken on their players with the next four weeks providing a Glasgow derby and Scottish Cup semi-final for Neil Lennon’s squad.
