Neil Lennon doesn’t make any apologies for his goal celebrations at Dens Park.

The usual suspects were on the Celtic manager’s case when he raced towards the Bob Shankly Stand to share his delight at the stoppage time winner from Odsonne Edouard.

With the club from Ibrox drawing against Kilmarnock the previous day Celtic headed to Tayside knowing that they could stretch their lead at the top of the table to 10 points going into the Glasgow derby a fortnight later.

After creating a handful of chances in the first half the hoops looked much more laboured after the break as Dundee took every opportunity to waste time and run down the clock.

Five minutes into stoppage time Edouard exchanged passes with James Forrest then drilled the ball into the net to set off wild scenes of celebrations.

It was the significance of the goal,” he explained to Celtic TV. “We didn’t want to go two draws in a row and the significance was that we opened up another two points on top of the gap that we already had. Psychologically it was huge with seven or eight games to go

I make no apology for my celebration, it’s something that’s intoxicating. It’s relief, happiness, it was joy and I don’t want to change that aspect of my personality.”

Lennon has had his non internationalists in training this week and has arranged a bounce match on Friday to give Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic a chance to prove their fitness for the Glasgow derby.
