Neil Lennon has paid tribute to Aberdeen for a great weeks work.

In his home coming match as Celtic caretaker the Irishman had to settle for a 0-0 draw that seemed to upset elements of the hoops support.

Lennon commented on the players looking leggy an a delayed reaction to the impact of Brendan Rodgers leaving for Leicester City.

Almost overlooked was the fact that Aberdeen had won all seven of their previous away matches, after drawing with Celtic they returned to winning ways in their Scottish Cup replay at Ibrox.

Lennon won’t have long to get another clash with Aberdeen with the Dons providing the opposition for Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

April 14 has been set for the showdown with most observers believing that the winner of that tie will go on to lift the trophy. Over the last three years Celtic have beaten Aberdeen in three Hampden finals.
