Lennon sets up closed doors match to speed up return of two key players

Neil Lennon has arranged a bounce game on Friday to help his preparations for the Glasgow derby.

The hoops boss has most of his first team away on international duty but closer to home the build up is well underway for the next domestic match.

Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham have yet to play for Celtic in 2019 but if they can come through Friday’s test then they will be in the squad to face Steven Gerrard’s side a week on Sunday.

Ryan is still a little bit off but Ollie trained today, Tom, Filip Benkovic they will all be out on the grass today, that’s just an increase in their workload.

We’ve got a bounce game on Friday, hopefully behind closed doors that they can get some minutes into their legs then hopefully they’ll be declared for for the game in a couple of weeks.

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the SPFL to 10 points with a 1-0 win over Dundee on Sunday with the value of those points shown in Lennon’s celebrations.

Benkovic did play for the last 20 minutes of that match with his return coming just as there are question marks over three defenders.

Dedryck Boyata missed the Dundee game due to a groin strain, Kris Ajerr had to be substituted due to concussion while Kieran Tierney will miss Scotland’s match with Kazakhstan due to concerns over his pelvic injury.
