Neil Lennon is prepared for the departure of Lee Congerton, Celtic’s Head of Recruitment.

The former Sunderland scout was a key part of Brendan Rodgers’ regime but was left behind when the Irishman decided on an overnight flit to Leicester City.

With Eduardo Macia leaving Leicester this week there is a Recruitment vacancy at the King Power Stadium that seems perfectly suited for Congerton to fill.

Having splashed out £9m so far for their management team Leicester have shown that they mean business with the arrival of Congerton expected to be simply a matter of timing.

Lennon said: “Lee is here, I’m working with Lee and it’s business as usual. I know that there is a lot of speculation surrounding Lee but like I said we had a meeting a week to ten days ago and he was full on.

It’s a case of maybe watching this space, if he does move on I’m sure that there will be a lot of candidates that the club has in mind to take over, if he does move on.”

Former Celtic scout John Park has been strongly linked with a return to Celtic having worked successfully with Lennon in the past.

Park joined Celtic while Gordon Strachan was manager but under Lennon he was involved in identifying Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and others.
