Oli Burke has admitted that he’d love to make his move to Celtic a permanent deal.

The forward is enjoying his best run of appearances in two seasons after £13m moves to RB Leipzig and West Brom saw him spending most of his time on the sidelines.

A January move to Celtic has allowed him to pick up his career but what happens at the end of May remains unclear.

Until now Burke has sat on the fence when asked about his future but in an interview for Ladbrokes let it slip that his preference is to stay on in Scotland.

“If it was down to myself, I would snatch it right up.

“I think it’s an amazing club and I’m very happy here and enjoying my football, so why wouldn’t I want to stay here?

“But right now, like I said, it’s totally out of my hands. We just have to see at the end of the season what comes of it.”

Since signing for West Brom in the summer of 2017 Burke has seen Tony Pullis, Darren Moore and Brendan Rodgers all move on for various reasons.

With a West Brom contract running until 2022 and transfers totalling £26m he won’t be short of money but until moving to Celtic he hasn’t picked up on the progress that he showed when breaking through at Nottingham Forest.

Crystal Palace have recently been credited with an interest in Burke with West Brom unlikely to let him move on for less than £10m.
