Rodgers signing left in limbo

Vakoun Issouf Bayo has opened up about watching the manager that signed him for Celtic move on weeks after moving to Scotland.

Bayo experienced just five minutes of first team action under the Irishman before he upped sticks and decided to give his life to Leicester City.

Celtic supporters were left bemused, puzzled and angry by that incredible decision with Bayo left wondering what he had walked into.

Maryan Shved will officially go down as the last signing made by Rodgers but it’s debatable how much input the Irishman had on that transfer.

With Kolo Toure involved in the Bayo transfer joining his mentor at Leicester it has left the striker with plenty to think about as he settles into a new country and looks to impress the caretaker manager.

The departure of the former coach has somewhat mixed my plans,” he told the Daily Record. “Today, there is a new boss who runs the team. It is not easy but, as a professional, I give the best of me to convince him.

I have played only one match with the first team since my arrival. Afterwards, I have taken part in several matches with the reserves, but given what I can produce on the field, I should quickly find the top team.

Given my current performances, I think everything should be in order for me. I am a fighter. If I’m at Celtic, it’s because I have a talent, so it’s up to me to fight to win my place.”

Bayo has played in three Reserve League matches, scoring in the 6-0 win away to Dundee watched by Neil Lennon.
