Celtic’s reserve side certainly took the opportunity to impress Neil Lennon as the caretaker boss watched a 6-0 win over Dundee yesterday.

A first goal for Vakoun Issouf Bayo naturally caught the eye with the striker showing great composure to take the ball into the penalty box and drill his shot into the net.

Earlier on the Ivorian striker had picked out a great pass for Jack Aitchison to show a striker’s instinct to go one-on-one with the keeper to put the ball into the net.

The best goal of the day however belonged to Kerr McInroy who whipped in a great 20 yard effort across goal to put Celtic 2-0 in front. With a shortage of midfield options at first team level McInroy could be following Ewan Henderson into the top team squad..

Armstrong Oko-Flex, Tom Caffrey and a second from Aitchison completed the scoring as Tommy McIntyre’s side moved into top spot in the SPFL Reserve League.

On Friday Celtic’s u-20 side are scheduled to play Partick Thistle in the semi-final of the Glasgow Cup, on Monday the reserves face Hearts at Cappielow with a 2pm kick off.
