Four minutes after Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring with a brilliant solo effort Alfredo Morelos was red carded for elbowing Scott Brown in an off the ball incident.
Referee Bobby Madden missed the incident but seemed to give his decision on a nod from his assistant as the Celtic players highlighted the clash.
Ryan Kent equalised in the 63rd minute but with four minutes remaining James Forrest restored Celtic’s lead as the discipline of the Ibrox players appeared to collapse.
As they prepared to re-start the match Kent sent Brown to the turf, at the final whistle almost all of the players were involved in a confrontation with Andy Halliday issued with a second red card after the final whistle.
